BÉNÉVOLAT

Chelsea Nordiq has a long tradition of community built on the commitment and positive energy of our members volunteering their time. The feeling of social camaraderie when volunteering at a Chelsea Nordiq event or project is incredible. Our success relies on the contributions and involvement of all our members.

As such all members are required to contribute the following minimum number of volunteer hours over the course of the season:

Learn To Ski - 2 hours

XC Development - 8 hours

Adventure and U14 Race - 10 hours

ESO/Nordic Race- 16 plus hours

Biathlon - 16 plus hours

The Biathlon and Race programs require a greater level of volunteer commitment as they involve travel to race events on some weekends.  Without volunteers CN would not be able to provide programming or away race support for our athletes.

There are countless opportunities, and many of them do not require ski expertise. Here are some examples:

  • Event coordination (Ski Swap, Super Sprints, Cookie Beiner Biathlon Race)

  • Day-of event assistance (Ski Swap, Super Sprints, Cookie Beiner, Biathlon Race)

  • Parrainage et rédaction de subventions

  • Toilettage

  • Directeur du conseil d'administration

  • Trip support on weekend races/events

  • Fundraising Activities

  • Technicien en cire

You’ll be surprised how quickly you can meet your time obligation, and how quickly that time goes by when you are sharing it with and making new friends! For example:

  • Preparing and handing out hot chocolate at two Learn To Ski lessons will satisfy the 2 hour obligation.

  • Volunteering to be a range recorder for one day of our Biathlon race will satisfy 50% of the time obligation.

When you register for a club membership you will be asked to read and acknowledge our volunteer policy. You can then indicate which areas of volunteering you would like to help out with.

If you have a certain area of interest or expertise, we would love to hear from you, so please contact us.
